Amarjit Singh was appointed as a Member of the Law Commission of India from September 2010 to September 2012. Prior to that, from September 2004 to July 2009, he held the position of Additional Solicitor General of India, representing the Union of India before various courts and tribunals. Between 2002 and 2004, he served as the Additional Advocate General of Punjab, having earlier held the position of Deputy Advocate General of Punjab from 1996 to 2002. Over the course of his career, Amarjit Singh has rendered legal opinions and advice to various Ministries of the Government of India as well as the Central Bureau of Investigation (C.B.I.), contributing to key decisions on legal and policy matters.
